Wondercamp: A Summer of Discovery for Montessori Students

Can you believe summer is just around the corner? Families are already planning to secure child care and make sure the season is meaningful, joyful, and full of growth. We invite you to join us for Wondercamp at our Montessori schools. The program offers a perfect blend of seasonal fun and Montessori-inspired exploration. The camp experience is designed to support your child’s natural curiosity while keeping learning light, hands-on, and exciting at every age.

Wondercamp is our signature summer experience, created for children from toddlers through school-age across our community of schools. The camp is intentionally balanced so learning still feels like a fun summer experience. Each week brings new themes, outdoor adventures, creative projects, and lots of opportunities for independent discovery.

Wondercamp for Toddlers

Our toddler classrooms provide developmentally rich summer experiences rooted in Montessori principles such as independence, choice, and exploration. Our Wondercamp themes offer children plenty of intentional, meaningful ways to build confidence and connect with the world around them.

Toddlers and Twos classrooms participate in sensory-rich experiences that spark curiosity and support early brain development. Seasonal themes like Wonders of the Garden help children explore plants, soil, water, and nature through touch, movement, and discovery.

Our youngest campers are encouraged to try things for themselves. Washing hands after outdoor play, choosing materials to use, and practicing self-help skills build pride in the experience and confidence all summer long.

Summer is meant for sunshine! Wondercamp emphasizes outdoor exploration and discovery as part of the experience, too. Children spend an ample amount of time exploring nature, moving their bodies, and observing the outdoors.

Together, these experiences give toddlers a joyful, nurturing, and predictable structured summer full of growth in all areas.

Wondercamp for Primary (Ages 3-6)

Our Primary campers experience Wondercamp through a blended approach, including classic Montessori classroom elements and captivating, age-appropriate themes.

Children use their senses to explore plants, textures, colors, materials, and natural elements. Our Wonders of Nature them encourage hands-on work, such as planting seeds, observing growth, and exploring nature’s patterns. Outdoor exploration is a central part of the summer. Primary students explore ecosystems, observe natural processes, and apply early scientific thinking through Wondercamp’s emphasis on inquiry, observation, and discovery opportunities. Practical Life application is seen in opportunities to water plants, care for the environment, prepare simple snacks, and contribute to the overall classroom community. These experiences foster responsibility, coordination, and concentration.

Wondercamp themes allow Primary learners to engage with early literacy, numeracy, and science concepts in natural settings with meaningful context. From storytelling inspired by nature to measuring plant growth, academic foundations are built through real experiences rather than worksheets. Primary campers participate in nature-inspired art, collaborative projects, and creative expression. These activities support big ideas through guided exploration and creativity. This age group thrives in an environment where independence, curiosity, and joyful learning come together, and Wondercamp delivers!
