During the summer of 2024, children attending our community of Montessori schools across the country developed self-confidence, learned new skills, and gained independence as they explored with their eyes trained toward the skies!
Each summer, our classrooms aim to go deeper with social science and cultural works, taking advantage of the slower pace of summer and opportunities to explore with an exciting theme.
This year, in addition to enjoying outdoor spaces with gardening and water play, students focused on developing creativity and strengthening academic skills by exploring the Earth’s atmosphere and journeying beyond to learn about space from the comfort of their classrooms.
Our seasonal Explore the Cosmos program covered a wide
variety of academic and sensorial studies offering the children opportunities
to explore topics including:
Future Astronaut
at West Montessori School of Copperfield in Houston, TX
Opportunities throughout the summer included Practical Life experiences with making astronaut pudding, cutting shooting stars out of watermelon slices, and creating the phases of the moon with cheese and crackers. These smiles by students at Colleyville Montessori School in Texas say it all!
