February 17 is Random Acts of Kindness Day. Here are 30 simple ways for you and your kiddos to get in on the action, to show that you care, and to be kind to others. Ready to get started? 

  1. Hold the door open for someone. 
  2. Do a chore for someone without them knowing. 
  3. Tell a joke. (Here’s one: How does one raisin compliment another? “You’re kind of grape!”) 
  4. Return someone’s cart at the store. 
  5. Feed the birds. 
  6. Leave happy notes around town. 
  7. Offer to help an elderly friend or neighbor. 
  8. Pick up litter. 
  9. Compliment a friend. 
  10. Write a thank you note for your mail carrier. 
  11. Plant something. 
  12. Set the table for dinner. 
  13. Donate outgrown clothes. 
  14. Tell someone why they are special to you. 
  15. Talk to someone new at school. 
  16. Donate food to the food pantry. 
  17. Take treats to the fire station.
