Welcome to Our School

Welcome to Greatwood Montessori School in Sugar Land, TX. We offer infant, toddler and primary programs for students two to six years of age. We just opened our new STEAM Studio where children will have weekly hands-on experiences to further explore the subjects of science, technology, engineering, the arts and mathematics.

Our school boasts a very large outdoor environment for the children to run, play and explore. We also have bikes and a basketball court for the children to play and ride, as well as other recreational learning tools.

We have been serving the communities of Greatwood, Riverpark, Telfair and New Territory since 1999. If you are interested in learning more about a Montessori education, I encourage you to schedule a tour. I would love to show you everything our Greatwood Montessori School has to offer, including our new partial-week program!

I believe Montessori education helps develop the child’s brain and mind at an early age and allows children to develop independence. Montessori also encourages them to reach their true potential. I enjoy working with children because they are full of happiness and just to see them smile makes me feel happy. I am a proud mother of two successful daughters and a happy grandmother of five grandchildren.

I love being able to teach children new skills and watch them use those skills to learn and grow. I believe you need to understand that all children are individuals in order to be successful in the child’s development. I am the mother of two children and the grandmother of one grandson and love spending time with them.

Working with children using the Montessori Method is very rewarding for me. In our classroom, we provide developmentally appropriate instruction to meet the individual needs of each student. I believe Montessori is very important for young children because it helps develop their young minds to become successful adults. I love watching how much they can accomplish from 18 months to the time they leave my class. My philosophy of teaching is that I believe each child is unique and needs a secure and caring environment to grow!

I enjoy the spontaneity, imagination, discovery and curiosity that the children bring into the classroom each and every day. My desire as an educator is to help my students meet their fullest potential by being their guide and allowing the child’s natural curiosity to direct his/her learning.
