Welcome to Our School
Welcome to Greatwood Montessori School in Sugar Land, TX. We offer Infant, Toddler and primary programs for children six weeks old to six years of age. Our STEAM Studio is certainly a small group favorite where children will have weekly hands-on experiences to further explore the subjects of science, technology, engineering, the arts and mathematics.
With our Grow Fit menu and certified teachers, we truly are a school to brag about! Our school boasts a very large outdoor environment where children can run, play and explore. We also have an outdoor garden and a basketball court for the children to play and grow fresh organic vegetables.
At Greatwood Montessori we teach all students to be kind to each other and to be patient. We teach them good values such as; problem solving by talking it out without being rude to one another or without having to get physical. We teach them to control their emotions. We also; believe talking to your friends about anything whether it is about disagreeing on something or wanting to play with the same thing. If they talk it out with their friend, and see how else they can fix the problem instead of getting upset or angry, works so much better and sets a good example for others around them. We strongly encourage families to do the same at home.
We have been proudly serving the communities of Greatwood since 1999. We are well recognized and recommended for having the most seasoned staff in the Sugar Land Community. Our Montessori Certified teachers alone have over 50 years of combined teaching experience and exceptional classroom management skills.
We're pleased to offer our families access to Montessori Compass. This online resource enables parents to receive updates about their child's school experiences and communicate with their teacher.

Our authentic Montessori experience is enhanced by a STEAM Studio.
Featuring hands-on learning stations for Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Math, the studio is available to Primary program students at least once a week.
- Science lab equipment will include items such as salt, vinegar, popsicle sticks, glue, clay, straws, etc., for children to perform simple experiments
- Technology learning experiences will be highlighted by tablets and educational apps
- Art studio activities will incorporate natural elements (such as leaves) and will feature various modes of art; for example, pendulum painting

Hello! My name is Linzie, and I am excited to introduce myself as the center Director here at Greatwood Montessori. I was born and raised in Houston, Texas. I have worked for over 16 years in the Early Childhood Education industry. Caring and teaching children has always been a passion of mine. It is my mission to ensure that all children receive the best care in a nurturing and safe environment where they can flourish and grow.

Abby Ross, Assistant Director
Hello. My name is Abby Ross and I'm thrilled to announce myself as the assistant director. I have been working as a teacher here at Greatwood Montessori for almost 10 years and working with children for about 20 years. My goal for my school and all the students is to ensure that they have mastered the life skills necessary to be resourceful, successful and independent as they become older.
