Welcome to Our School
Welcome to West Montessori School of Houston, TX. My name is Caryl Ann McAnelly and I am the director. Our school offers programs for children ages 18 months to six years through our Toddler and Primary programs.
West Montessori School is a peaceful learning environment focused on using the Montessori Method to educate and develop children. Additionally, we provide the very best child care/daycare to local families. We work to stimulate students’ curiosity, instruct them on important life skills, and let them learn their own way with individualized experiences. We offer our STEAM Studio environment where your child may explore science, technology, engineering, art and math. Don't miss a moment of your child's daily learning journey.
I am a member of American Montessori Society (AMS) and our school is an AMS internship site. We serve the greater Cypress communities of Copperfield, Riata Ranch, Town Lakes, Copper Lakes, Bridgeland and more.

Electives Offered
Elective programs allow Montessori students to learn by exploring creative outlets that will help them advance in the future—while giving your family more free time on evenings and weekends. We offer:

Our authentic Montessori experience is enhanced by a STEAM Studio.
Featuring hands-on learning stations for Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Math, the studio is available to Primary program students at least once a week.
- Science lab equipment will include items such as salt, vinegar, popsicle sticks, glue, clay, straws, etc., for children to perform simple experiments
- Technology learning experiences will be highlighted by tablets and educational apps
- Art studio activities will incorporate natural elements (such as leaves) and will feature various modes of art; for example, pendulum painting

I am the mother of three ambitious, intelligent women and grandmother of six beautiful, independent Montessori children! I'm a Life Member and active volunteer judging Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo School Art. My experience has spanned decades of prideful joy of working with children from infants through high schoolers in both private and public sectors.

I believe the work I do makes a positive difference in the lives of the families we serve. I strongly believe in the Montessori Method and love watching children grow every day. My early childhood teaching experiences include six years of assisting in a primary Montessori environment.
